SARS has introduced one important change to the reconciliation process. All employees, regardless of income level have to be allocated an Income Tax number and the employer has to apply for it.
Here is an overview of the 2011 reconciliation process which is discussed in more detail on the following pages.
Step 1: Ensure that you have downloaded the latest release of Easyfile (4.3.3) and Mirror Payroll (2011.d8) They are available from the downloads page.
Step 2: Synchronise Easyfile with sarsefiling and export to Mirror to determine who has been allocated IT numbers.
Step 3: Apply for IT numbers via sarsefiling.
Step 4: Check that employees logistical information is complete in Mirror and add newly aquired IT numbers.
Step 5: Perform Year end in Mirror Payroll and export file.
Step 6: Import file into Easyfile, complete declaration and submit.
